Duct work Modifications
Putting comfort where it was meant to be

   Properly         Before being
   Sealed           Sealed
Improperly sized or designed ductwork is one of the most common reasons people are not comfortable in their own homes. Imagine for a moment that your furnace is your lungs. Now imagine that you are running a 1-mile race. If you are in good shape you should have no problem. Now imagine that you have to run that same 1-mile race breathing through a cocktail straw. No matter how good of shape you are in, you will never run the race as fast and easily as if you could breath normally. This inability to breathe is what happens when your furnace is forced to operate through improperly sized ductwork.

By custom fabricating sheet metal ductwork, we can quickly and efficiently build any necessary parts of duct to modify and enhance the performance of your system. Even if your entire duct system needs replacement, we can design and fabricate a new system.

It is true that metal ducts are the most efficient means for air distribution; however, they are also the most expensive to have custom fabricated and installed. The metal duct shown here is typical of an up-flow installation commonly found in homes with a basement. This metal duct has insulation on the inside.  Here in Texas where most of our ducts are located in the attic, we use round metal duct and the insulation for this duct is an outside   1 1/4" thick wrap.

Properly installed less expensive flex duct, that is, ducts that have minimal turns and sag in the run will keep static pressure to a minimum and will perform satisfactorily.  Using flex duct also permits us to have dedicated supply runs with damper control to each room, thus allowing for correct air balancing.

Having sealed ducts and return air compartments is equally as important as having   properly sized ducts. Supply ducts that are not properly sealed will permit cool air to escape and aid in cooling your attic, or other unconditioned space.  Return air compartments and return air ducts that are not properly sealed  will "suck in" all the dirt and debris available from all those unwanted / unconditioned spaces and then send this contaminated air throughout your home.
